Helping You Is Killing Me

Ever feel as if you are barely hanging on, feeling so desperate it’s as if your doctor had come to you and said, “I’m sorry, but we’ve done all we know how to do.” You have made every attempt to hold on to hope. You have repented, tried to forgive, prayed, and cried out to God, yet it feels like no one hears. Since no one sees you, you feel invisible, as if someone hooked you up to life support and left you to die. People have counted you out, leaving you to wonder, “Does anyone care?”
In the midst of this, you can hear what God is saying and know his Word is true, but you have grown cold, numb, and unresponsive. You feel you have no fight left. If you have reached such a state, don’t quit! Because of the feelings of despondency and bleakness I have endured—and overcome—I believe that you still have one good punch left in you. It is the blow that will take the devil out and help you break through to freedom. Such a resounding victory will give you the next breath you need to arise.
